I have been over weight all of my life. I’ve half heartedly tried many different diets over the years only to fail and go back to old habits. A little over 3 years ago a close friend and I got talking and she suggested I try Atkins. She talked about the success her sister had, and all the food you could eat on it. So I decided to try it for 2 weeks. I figured I could do anything for 2 weeks.
So Memorial Day 2010 I began eating “low carb”, 20 carbs a day and no more. In 2 weeks I had lost almost 15 pds. I weighed myself every day and saw results, and it was SO easy! I never thought you could lose weight and still eat so many flavorful things. Two weeks turned into 2 months, then 6 months, and so on. Before I noticed I had lost 75 pds. I felt amazing, and had so much more confidence. The day I hit under 200, I cried and texted a picture of the scale to my family. I never thought it was possible.
Since then I have lost 35 more pounds, and today when taking my “after” photo for this contest I teared up because I didn’t even recognize myself. I never thought I could be this person and feel this happy with myself. I feel healthy and alive, I have an amazing life, and can not begin to express how grateful I am that I found Atkins I truly would not be as happy as I am without it.
