How to Stay on Track During a Long Weekend

May 21, 2015

The Memorial Day holiday is coming up next week and if you’re planning a mini vacation for the long weekend please give some advance thought to planning your meals as it’s easy to slip into old habits and fall off your plan.

I plan to stay on track during the holiday weekend by staying active. I’m going to pack my days with activities for me and my family to enjoy together. When you’re busy, you don’t spend as much time thinking of food.

Of course there will be temptation everywhere so it’s unrealistic to say you won’t cheat at all. But if you do have a small slip-up at your barbecues and family gatherings, do it in moderation. Have one slice of pizza or one cookie. A holiday weekend is no excuse to go completely off your plan with an “I’m on vacation” mentality. I always remind myself that holidays are about spending time with family and friends, not the food!
How do you plan on staying on track this Memorial Day Weekend? Let’s hear it!

Big Kiss,
Mrs. O
