Atkins Friendly Sweet Treats for the 4th of July

July 2, 2015

The 4th of July will always hold such a special place in my heart. In addition to being my favorite summer holiday, it’s Ozzy and my anniversary. This year we are celebrating 33 years together! Can you believe it? If we’re home at 4th of July we usually end up having a lovely afternoon barbecue with friends and family. Of course we always make sure we end the night by watching some amazing fireworks. With all these festivities going on I know it’s hard to stay 100% on track — I’ll likely have a hamburger (just without the bread)! The sweets are the hardest part to avoid on a holiday weekend, but not if you prepare some Atkins-Friendly sweet treats to enjoy at your party.

For me since I’m not a cook, my go-to dessert is some whipping cream with berries. It’s sweet and really healthy! Ozzy and I had this as our dessert last year in London for our anniversary. We both love it! Another favorite of mine is these fabulous fresh-baked sugar-free lemon bars. They’re made with almond flour and lemon juice so you don’t feel bloated and sick after indulging. Be sure to visit my previous blog for the recipe!

Another recipe from the Atkins site I’m certain my Pearly girl would enjoy is Double Berry Ice Pops. They’re simple to make and delicious – they only ingredients are berries, sugar-free strawberry syrup and water!

What will you be making for your family barbeque this 4th of July? Send along your sweet treat recipes and maybe I can convince my daughter-in-law to whip them up for me!

All My Love,

Mrs. O
