First of all, I have been fat off and on since childhood. My poor mother weighed in at about 350 lbs. and was 5’ 5’, always ill and always a great cook. I inherited my eating habits from her.
Long story short, I’ve fought these tendencies all my life. Five years ago, a good friend introduced me to the Atkins way of life. First time around, I dropped 70 lbs. – then gained it all back. Second time around, I lost 60 lbs. and gained it all back. Three years ago, by the grace of God and many prayers and Akins, I went from 267 to 145 lbs. in about 10 months and have kept it off. I will be an Atkins follower for the rest of my life.
I’m sad Atkins was not available so many years ago. This is a way of life for me now; it suits me and my eating habits. It has given me a new life to live. I would be lost without my faith, my family and my Atkins.
All the stories on the Atkins website encourage and enlighten. This is a workable way of life for the rest of my life. I have never called it a diet, I call it a way of life. I’ve been a compulsive over eater my entire life, but with Atkins and faith all things are possible.
I encourage anyone to do this. I have debilitating spine, knee, neck and feet problems – and the results from Atkins were nothing short of a miracle. More energy, feeling better, lower cholesterol levels, everything I owe to Atkins and my God. Thank you for listening. This program has given me a life I am pleased to live.
