INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp Cumin seed, ground
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tsp Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon(s) Swerve Sweetener, Brown
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, ground
  • 0 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 0 1/2 tsp Ground Mustard
  • 0 1/2 tsp Allspice, ground
  • 24 ounce(s) Beef short ribs, boneless, raw
  • 8 tbsp Kraft Carb Well Barbecue Sauce

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a small bowl combine the first 9 ingredients until evenly distributed and the brown swerve is mixed in. Season all sides of each rib with the rub, pressing it into the meat. The ribs can be refrigerated at this point for up to 24 hours if desired.
  2. In a slow cooker, place each rib standing against the wall keeping a little room between each one. Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. Remove the meat to a cutting board and shred with two forks. Place back into the slow cooker, mixing with the liquid, and keep warm until ready to serve. This meat is also delicious cold, as filling for a lettuce wrap.
Ingredient note: we list Kraft brand sugar free barbecue sauce in the ingredients, but you can replace with any no sugar added barbecue sauce with 3 or fewer net carbs per 2 tablespoons.
