INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 16 oz Cooked Pearl Onions (from Frozen)
  • 1 tsp Xylitol
  • 0 1/3 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Thyme

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a medium skillet.  Add thawed onions (be sure to pat them dry after thawing), season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, and saute until they begin to brown.
  2. Sprinkle the onions with xylitol and the balsamic vinegar.  Stir and continue to cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add 2/3 cup water and thyme.  Continue to cook over low heat until the onions are tender and the liquid has evaporated; about 20 minutes.  Serve immediately.  One serving is about 1/8 cup (5-6 onions).
