Kielbasa with Caraway Kraut

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon crumbled Bay Leaf
  • 24 ounces Polish Kielbasa (Turkey and Beef, Smoked)
  • 1 pound Sauerkraut (Solid and Liquids, Canned)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Caraway Seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Canola Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth, Bouillon or Consomme

Directions:

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat and sauté sliced white onion 5 minutes until soft. Add sauerkraut, broth, mustard, bay leaf, caraway seeds and peppercorns; mix well. Cover pan and simmer mixture 30 minutes. 
  2. Add sausage, mix well and simmer 20 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
