INGREDIENTS

  • 0.25 cup Wheat Bran (Crude)
  • 1.125 cup Whole Grain Soy Flour
  • 0.6666 cup Vanilla Whey Protein
  • 0.25 cup Organic 100% Whole Ground Golden Flaxseed Meal
  • 0.6665 cup Vital Wheat Gluten Flour

DIRECTIONS

This versatile low-carb flour mix is an important component of many of the recipes in Atkins' latest book:  Atkins: Eat Right, Not Less.  On shelves soon!

Combine all ingredients, and mix thoroughly. Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. 

Note:  It is not necessary to use vanilla flavored whey protein powder, unflavored is ideal but the vanilla will not contribute much flavor to the mix so if it is what you have on hand, use it.  

How to Calculate Net Carbs

In the Atkins Nutritional Approach®, the Net Atkins Count™ is calculated by subtracting the number of grams of fibre and sugar alcohols (also known as polyols) from the total grams of carbohydrates in whole foods. This reflects the idea that fibre and sugar alcohols minimally impacts blood sugar levels at the doses present in the products.
