Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Canola Vegetable Oil
- 1 tablespoon Xylitol
- 1/4 cup Vinegar (Cider)
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Ketchup
- 1/8 teaspoon Red or Cayenne Pepper
Directions:
Despite its name, this is a classic American salad dressing. Its sweet-tart flavor is ideal with crisp pieces of iceberg lettuce and wedges of sweet ripe tomatoes. If you don't have garlic powder, crush one garlic clove with the flat side of a chef's knife and add it to the dressing; remove and discard the garlic before serving or storing. Light olive oil may also be substituted for the canola oil. Each serving is 2 tablespoons.
- Whisk together ketchup, oil, vinegar, salt, garlic powder, xylitol and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl.
- Use immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
