Low Carb Tomato Sauce

0 1/4 cup EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
28 oz Crushed Tomatoes (Canned)
2 clove GARLIC
1 tsp, leaves Basil (Dried)
0 1/2 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) CELERY
DIRECTIONSEnjoy this versatile low carb marinara with baked meatballs and low-carb or shirataki pasta, as well as sautéed zucchini, onions, and peppers. Each serving of basic tomato sauce is 1/2 cup.
- Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Dice the white onion, celery and garlic; add to pan and saute until the vegetables are very soft, about 6 minutes. Add basil and cook, stirring, 30 seconds.
- Stir in tomatoes. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, partially covered, until thickened, about 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot
