Tomato-Mozzarella Melt

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup shredded Whole Milk Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 medium whole (2-3/5" diameter) Red Tomato

Directions:

This is an easy recipe.  Add some extra flavor by dusting the top of the tomato with salt, freshly ground black pepper and add other seasonings such as herbs (basil, oregano or thyme) or other spices (try a pinch of cayenne, powdered garlic).
  1. Cut tomato in half. Cut off top and bottom so it will sit flat.
  2. Place 1/2 of cheese on each tomato half.
  3. Place in microwave for 30-60 seconds until cheese melts or place under broiler for 1 minute until cheese melts.
