Cooking tip: You can choose to make your own bread for this recipe, or use Keto or Low Carb bread with 1 gram net carbs per slice from the grocery store for this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 4 pieces cooked bacon (32g)
- 1/4 cup sliced fresh jalapeño pepper (23g)
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese, cut into 4 slices
- 8 slices keto bread (or 4 slices Keto Bread)
- 1 tablespoon butter
Directions:
Please use the Atkins recipe to make Keto Bread. You will need 4 regular slices or servings.
- Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Crumble the bacon and then combine it with the softened cream cheese and diced or sliced jalapeno peppers.
- If using homemade Keto Bread, take 4 regular slices and slice them in half to make 8 thinner slices for 4 servings.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over 4 slices of the bread. Layer the cheddar cheese over the cream cheese mixture and sandwich them together with the remaining slice of bread. Repeat for 3 more sandwiches.
- Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes then flip and cook an additional 2-3 minutes until browned and the cheese has melted.
