Roast Beef and Yorkshire Puddingtraditional English faremake for a deluxe Sunday dinner.
  • 1/2 cup soya powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup wheat gluten
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup beef drippings (fat) or vegetable oil
  1. Preheat oven to 450 F. Whisk together soya mix, gluten, eggs, milk and salt.
  2. Pour drippings into an 8 square baking dish, and place on center rack in oven for 5 minutes, until drippings are smoking hot.
  3. Add batter and bake 15 minutes. Lower temperature to 350 F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes more, until lightly browned. Serve piping hot.
