![]() | The Sundance Film festival and Fashion Week New York are celebrity magnets known for their hard-to-please patrons. But celebrities and other folk gave a big “thumbs up” to the new, redesigned Atkins Advantage® products when we “premiered” them to the glamour crowd last month. At Sundance, Atkins set up shop across the street from the heavily trafficked Egyptian Theatre. Nearly five thousand people a day passed by, sampling the new Atkins Advantage® drinks and nutrition bars. Actors and other attendees were thrilled to have some good nutritious snack food, especially since the majority of the fast food fare and snack machine selections were anything but healthy. These are folks who have to stay in shape and look good for a living, so their “five star reviews” for the Atkins Advantage® line were all the more meaningful. The success at Sundance was repeated with an equally picky group of celebs during NY Fashion Week. Atkins reps bought enough product to last for seven days but found that they were out of stock in a mere day and a half. They literally had to run around to the surrounding stores and buy up their stock just to keep up with the demand until the next shipment could arrive. Angie Harmon checked us out at Fashion Week in NY and the Atkins Advantage booth at Sundance had plenty of bold name celebs (Marlee Martin, Ronald Reagen Jr., Ali Sheedy were all visitors at the booth) but so were the skiers, ski instructors, film crews, and fans. Many would show up daily at the Sidecar for their Advantage Bars or protein drinks and would frequently comment on how much better they felt because of Atkins. |
Many of these folks really were taken aback when they saw how much sugar was in the some of the other bars they had been eating before discovering the new Atkins Advantage® products. For the record: 20 grams of sugar in a Cliff Bar, 8 in a Luna bar, 20 grams in a Power Bar, and 13 in a Balance bar. By comparison, the delicious new Atkins bars have only 1 gram.
Particular hits at Sundance and fashion week: The Creamy Vanilla and Chocolate Royale drinks. Among the bars, there were four standouts: chocolate chip granola, peanut butter granola, carmel fudge and carmel cookie dough bars were impossible to keep on the shelf!
